I absolutely loved how this quote turned out.

This new start is something I`ve been needing lately. It took a long time to recover from the instability caused by the events of 2020 and finally, I feel like my life is slowly blooming, flourishing and bringing joy into my everyday.

Growing and changing with time and this helps me see my earlier pursuits with a different lens. I`ve almost recovered the motivation I used to see the world with and I`m embracing everything new to come and my comforting old rituals.

La Promesa 💖

It has been quite a while that I have posted anything here but I want to say hi again! I set out this year with a resolve to be more consistent with my art. Clearly that hasn`t been the case.

But let me start with a story...

There are loves and there are the loves that get away from you.

For me the ones I call love has always been my art, and the innumerable forms it shapes itself into.

There were days when I`d been rejoicing, taking comfort in it`s warmth and making my abode surrounding it. And my feelings towards them haven`t even changed minutely.

And then you distance yourself from it for a day. You tell yourself that you`ll get back to your love right away. You bid a temporary goodbye. After all, it`s just a matter of 24 hours. Nothing to fret about. And they wait patiently.

The days turn into weeks, into months. You don`t know how the time went by. Life got you all caught up. You don`t even remember the last time you touched and engaged your instruments of affection.

The guilt. The pain. That feeling of haven`t been able to keep your promise eats you up. You wonder if you should go have a look. Sneak a peak at them.

But there`s a lingering fear that turns your skin cold. What if they left? What if they got tired of waiting? Would they still be around waiting for you? Questions. Questions. Questions.

But what if you never find out? You go back with your heart racing. With hope. Your heart is still afraid. But you open that door. And before you can process what you find, your eyes start to water.

In front of the fire, curled up in a blanket, there they are! Sitting timidly, they glance at you. With a meek whisper they say, we waited for you love. Where have you been? Won`t you share the story?

You run as fast as you could and hug them tight. "I`ve missed you", you say. I have been miserable without all of you and I lost my way.

Will you do me the honour of keeping me company again? Keeping me warm? I give you my word. Just this time hold onto your faith in me. 🐈

A day of wandering around pretty streets in Pondicherry.

A friend recently told me that, "Pre, you`re just stuck in this city. The minute you step out and cross that Toll Booth is when you truly glow".

True enough, this so called "surprise trip" to Pondicherry was all about that glow, my love for living slow and being surrounded by artistic things.

And this day was just that! There`s something about wandering around the streets of the French Town in the hot afternoon sun, slow, without knowing what you might find. Lovely french villas, some restored, some intact in their original glory. Roads covered by the canopy of trees and resting below them to get respite from the harsh sun.

Though it was a bit more busy that what I would have preferred, there is definitely beauty in appreciating things for as they are with good company and conversations. And one cannot complain about the pretty doors everywhere now, can then?
